On “This Week,” ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper asked Gates, “Do you think Libya posed an actual or imminent threat to the United States?”
“No, no,”, says Robert Gates, United States Secretary of Defense.
How warm of words to hear from the nations own Secretary of Defense.
For a little under 2 weeks, I’ve been trying to find out what threat Libya poses to America, but I had the most difficult time. So did Gates, apparently.
And to think, we have domestic issues to deal with ourselves (immigration, energy reform, nat’l healthcare, unemployment). How can we fund another country’s civil war and start nat’l healthcare, without raising taxes. The dollar will inflate. What’s going on in Libya that the Obama administration isn’t telling us? I genuinely don’t understand how we are throwing money to Libya when we can’t pay our teachers enough and guarantee their social security upon retirement.
Not to mention the complete disorder and the still very unclear mission and objective. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton says one thing, NATO says a different thing, and Obama says another. This is a bureaucracy, folks!
They say it’s for humanitarian purposes, paraphrasing the words of Farrakhan, if we are humanitarian police, let’s go to dozens of other countries and liberate their people. No? Bahrain and Syria are next!
I’m no psychic but the best way to guess the president’s next step, is to guess what they said they won’t do. Click here for the really funny “Top 10 Unfortunate Political One Liners.” With that being said, Obama promised no ground troops on Libya soil.
I have so much more to say about this, but when I go too deep, I’m accused of being an “Obama-hater” or parallel to Bill O’Reilly…I’d much rather not. We are to demand answers from our government! Don’t sit by like a lame duck and trust the government! Trust the government? This nation is in shambles! Go and ask war veterans if they’ve received adequate care! Go and ask 40 year olds if they are comfortable with their social security funds! Go and ask the federal reserve what’s their confidence in the dollar!
No I will definitely not sit by and watch.
So, what will it be Obama? If the American people aren’t, I’m watching you and holding you to your word.
